Created wallpapers, widgets, clock faces, marketing campaign promotional material and more for Nothing - a tech brand based in the UK.

My Role

Independently conceptualized, curated and designed all of the above... which is displayed below.

Challenges

Each visual solution, initially, is a riddle in its own right.
For wallpapers, the challenge is to make sure that it looks great, but doesn't obstruct the OS.
For widgets, it is to simplify complex ideas and maintain the aesthetic of the existing software.
For posters, the importance is on telling a story and exciting an observer.
For apps, ease of navigation and proper arrangement of information becomes the priority.
Glyph matrix was a brand new, unique addition for phone 3; its a small LED display at the back of the phone and can only be controlled either by a dedicated capacitive button or the device gyroscope. So here the challenge was the limited space and the controls.

Process & Approach

Stayed true to the brands existing design ethos and added a layer of retro futurism and digital warmth for software experiences. For marketing and packaging kept the designs in-line with their previous roll-outs and tailored for a specific product. For glyph matrix I approached them with a mindset of extreme minimalism, keeping just the perfect amount of information like seeing the weather, staying updated on the progress of a download, watching the leaves fall to relax or checking your screentime.

Results

Runner up in the brand's annual community edition project. Designed a widget for their community widgets program used by 100k+ users globally and increased Play Store rating by 2%. My work and the posts showcasing them have received 200,000+ views on the brand’s community platform, generating interest and drawing users deeper into the Nothing ecosystem.
